When to Turn to a Solicitor

There are occasions in life where it becomes necessary to obtain legal advice; but, who to turn to on such occasions?

Dependent upon your circumstances, and the type of legal advice you require, there are a number of places to which you can turn:

If you need advice on tax and company law, an accountant may be in a position to help;

Advice centres, such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, housing advice centres, money advice centres and law centres can be approached on specific areas;

Other organizations such as trade unions and motoring organizations can advise on their own, specific areas of expertise.

Though non-solicitors are allowed to offer such legal advice, they cannot always be relied upon to be sufficiently expert. Many issues can be sufficiently important that greater peace of mind would be afforded by approaching a firm of solicitors for assistance; and in the Midlands area and Birmingham – and sometimes further afield – Brendan Fleming Solicitors are in a position to offer you the advice and assistance you need.

Putting yourself in the hands of solicitors, such as those at Brendan Fleming, grants the reassurance of professionals who have undergone structured and well regulated training over many years; who undergo mandatory training on an ongoing basis; and who are monitored in their operation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, an independent body with the express purposes of ensuring excellent service and satisfaction for clients.

The law can be quite a labyrinth, especially for those untrained in the area. A solicitor is there to help mark the path out of the legal maze with sound advice on how to handle your particular situation.

Beyond offering legal advice, a solicitor is empowered to deliver various legal services and in certain cases they may even personally represent you in a court of law.

As the law is a vast and ever changing subject, no one solicitor can be an expert on all areas of the law. At Brendan Fleming we have solicitors who specialize in the areas of public law, family matters, civil and commercial litigation, children's proceedings, conveyancing and wills, and others. Like all solicitors, none of the team are experts on all the law, and instead they focus on individual aspects of the legal system, allowing them to offer you the best service possible in their own particular area of expertise.

Beyond the technical aspects of our service, there is also the matter of our friendly face-to-face service, something over which we pride ourselves here at Brendan Fleming.

Based in Birmingham, our practice extends over the entire Midlands area: Wolverhampton, Coventry; even so far afield as Derby and Nottingham. So, should you find yourself in need of a lawyer or solicitor, feel free to contact us, any time. We are ready to help you.
