In this case we represented the maternal aunt who had the care of the two eldest children out of the sibling set. The youngest child had sustained retinal haemorhages. It was eventually accepted that the injuries could have been caused due to the child’s severe prematurity. The children were returned to the care of their mother and the local authority withdrew their application.
