This case concerned 3 children. The youngest had sustained bruising, subdural and subarachnoid haemorrhages along with retinal haemorrhages. Numerous medical experts were instructed. A finding of fact hearing took place and whilst the judge did not accept the father’s explanation for an accident, the judge did accept a momentary loss of control and that the actions amounted to unreasonable parenting. The children were returned to the care of the mother with a plan of work to be done with the father prior to his reunification with the family.
